How to Open Locked Doors with the Terminal in Lethal Company
All terminal commands can be viewed by entering 'help' on the screen. Hit enter to view all the commands and type them in as they appear to make the terminal do the things on the list. It's a simple system that everyone can easily figure out, but there's one terminal feature that isn't as easy to understand: opening electronic doors from the ship.
Opening locked doors is one of the main functions of the ship terminal outside of information and logistics management. The radio operator will be able to see the names of doors on their team map monitor — these names usually come in the form of two-character combinations (e7, a1, b2, etc.).
To remotely access these doors, the radio operator must interact with the ship terminal and simply enter the door's designated name. A message saying "Broadcasted Special Code" will appear on the terminal screen, indicating that the door has received the command and is being toggled remotely.
Players can use this same method to temporarily shut down proximity mines and sentry guns as well. Check the team map monitor to find the names of the devices, then enter them into the terminal. A progress bar will appear on the map screen, showing the radio operator the remaining time before the toggled device turns back on again.
Unfortunately, sentries and mines cannot be permanently deactivated. Hitting sentries with a shovel or stop sign won't do anything but get a player killed, and land mines will always be active unless something steps on them. Neither can be used against any of the monsters either, so it's best to leave them alone unless they're in the way of loot.
Radio operators should always be unlocking doors via the terminal, especially since expensive loot tends to be inside restricted rooms. However, keep in mind that the operator's influence is restricted to electronic doors only. Other players will need to use keys that are randomly scattered about the bunker in order to open other locked doors.
On a final note, radio operators must remember that they are not safe on the ship. If there are any Eyeless Dogs around, they should find some way to lead them away or risk getting eaten while communicating with the team.
